To perform these simulations, M3E uses state-of-the-art numerical codes, developed both by the University of Padua and in-house, already tested in several applications:

 

CATHY:  3D simulation code for the coupling between groundwater flow in confined and unconfined aquifers and surface runoff;

 

CODES:  nonlinear simulation of flow and heat and mass transport processes in non-isothermal motions with density for the prediction of diffusion and transport of NAPL contaminants and the salt water intrusion;

 

TRAN3D: 3D simulation code for the transport of contaminants in confined multi-aquifers systems.
